Empathic & Collaborative Care
I have been a licensed clinical social worker for over 20 years with advanced training in fertility counseling, perinatal and postpartum mental health and child parent psychotherapy.
My passion for supporting the family system started in working with families with young children. I have since recognized the importance of parental wellness and have expanded my practice to include focusing on the specific mental health needs of the parent. This includes perinatal and postpartum anxiety and depression, adjusting to becoming a parent and adapting to a new identity. Symptoms of the above may include fatigue, feeling on edge, having scary thoughts, insomnia, constant questioning of self, loss of joy or connection to others. Our work together allows them to better support themselves and the parent-child connection.
Additionally, I recognize that even becoming a parent can be a physical and emotional struggle for some people. My clinical work assists people who may be questioning whether they want to parent, may choose solo parenting, or may be needing to undergo fertility treatments, or are contemplating third party reproductive support and who may have experienced pregnancy loss and grief.
I am trained in a broad range of behavioral, psychodynamic, developmental and strength based interventions which allows me to tailor my approach to work with your strengths and meet your unique needs. I utilize an approach that listens, supports and guides a client through the questions or challenges that have brought them to seek support so we can work together to get results.
